I have a mercedes e240 petrol, engine has blown and needs replacing. Have been offered a good deal on an e320 petrol engine - would it be compatible?

Can't get thru to mechanic today, don't want to miss out on deal.

let it go bud, an e220 is a four cylinder engine and an e320 is a six cylider totally different kettle of fish

Hiya,

Currently have an E240 engine V6 - would this be compatible with the E320?

Thanks

Don't see why not Ford Jedi !?
Both E-Class, engine bay the same size. As long as they both use the same gearbox, then it's possible. Wiring looms may cause a problem but that's workable.

they may be the same engine bay ,but different looms if you want alot of heart ache and car off the road ,while you try to get a 4cylinder ecu to work on a v6 and tear your hair out trying to get a new loom which is probably worth more than the car you are trying to repair by all means fire away but i wont imagine would get any good mechanic putting his hand up for that job.
as much as the v6 is a nice engine the 240 is worth much less when you go to get rid of it.doin an gine swap on the 220 is only a days work so you can have your back on the road the next day as apposed to next year.
