Melamine wine glasses

I am looking to buy melamine or plastic (good quality) wine glasses but not spend more than a euro on each one.

They are for sale in Dunnes for 2.50 each.

Anyone know where else they are for sale?

Last time I was in Tesco were selling off some really nice melamine picnicware cheaply. I'm not sure if they had wineglasses though.

If you're in Dublin then maybe All Rooms in Upper Liffey Street sell them?

Slightly OT: but would plastic wineglasses not drastically affect the taste of the wine?? I know beer or tea or soft drinks certainly taste different.

Tallpaul, the best way to drink wine (as I was informed 3 years ago to my embarassment) is from a mug or earthenware or wooden holder as it "keeps in the taste". But I think it's for domestic or general wines, whereas for high end it's supposedly better to let in light, plastic is probably between the two. For me, I buy my wine in plastic bottles and it tastes just fine!

...whereas for high end it's supposedly better to let in light,

UV light will ruin wine over time. The reason for light is so that those who feel educated enough can determine certain qualities of the wine from the colour and opacity. Also, could you ever imagine a snob drinking from an earthenware mug?

I noticed Debenhams had a nice selection of them in their homewares dept during the sale.

Just saw some wine and champagne plastic glasses in Tesco. I couldn't see a price for them but I'd say they were fairly cheap i.e. cheaper than €2.50 per glass. They were in packs of 4.
