megane problem-please help

hey guys im driving a 00 megane and last night the petrol light came on just after i put petrol into it, i then put another 10 in and it was still on, even though the gauge went up, today car wont start at all, battery light, oil light and petrol light all on, has this happened to anyone else and do you know what the fault is? or how to fix it? thanks-james in cork

I had a '00 megane until last month.

whenever a simple fuse was blown, the oil light, stop light and immobiliser light all came on. Check all lights are working, especially rear reversing light, fogs etc, and then go through all fuses and ensure one isn't blown.

You'd be amazed how simple some electrical issues with those cars are to fix, even though they appear to be catostrophic at first.

Sounds like a bad earth. Renaults are plagued with them, especially your vintsge of one.
