Mediterranean honeymoon in Sept - suggestions please?

We are getting married in early Sept and would like to honeymoon in the mediterranean for a week/10 days. We would like a nice hotel (4* plus, large bright bedroom, good food etc.), near the sea. A good beach for swimming is a must. Also nice restaurants nearby is also important. We don't mind where it is as long as the above criteria are met.
Any suggestions welcome.

Have you considered a cruise ?

Would meet all your criteria (except the large bedroom) depending on your budget.

Sardinia is a good option, would the weather be good mid-Sept I wonder?

Sorrento/Amalfi also another option - anyone know of nice beaches in the area?

Google "naples italy beaches" and you will get lots of hits which will give you great ideas

My experience of Sorrento is that it is absolutely stunning but that the actual beaches are not great.
