I think I may have a claim for dental negligence. I currently have a complaint in with the Dental Council but this seems to be a complete waste of time as their powers are fairly limited and the standard they apply is higher than a civil case i.e. the burden of proof they require is beyond reasonable doubt rather than on the balance of probabilities.
I have not really got any clear answers from Irish dentists I've seen (I guess that was to be expected) so I would like to establish if I do actually have a claim which I understand would probably mean getting an expert witness opinion in the UK.
How do I go about getting this and how do I find a good solicitor experienced in medical/dental negligence cases in order to find out if I have a case. I am a little pushed for time on this as the statute of limitations (2 years) applies so I only have a few months before this runs out.
Any advice or recommendations on good solicitors for this type of case would be appreciated.
