Medical expenses in tax return

Quick one:
I have just found medical expense receipts for 2006, which I never claimed in my tax return for 06. (forgot about them!)

However I am now doing my 2007 tax return.
Can I put these through?

Just fill in a MED1 claim for 2006.

I'm doing my 2007 return and like the Op also came across a couple (albeit not for much). Are you sure they'll accept a late Med 1? the majority of my medical expenses were claimed on my 06 return.

Medical expenses can be claimed back to 2004 i.e. four previous tax years. No problem claiming now. Just make sure you claim them for the correct year

Just write a covering letter explaining that you claimed for some but not all expenses and that you are claiming for the latter now. If the €125/€250 "excess" for individual/joint claims was already deducted then you might want to mention this too. That "excess" was abolished from 2007.

Thanks ClubMan. Hadn't considered sending them in until I read this thread as they were inadvertenatly put in with my 2007 receipts and weren't for all that much. But I'll send them in as you suggest. Might cover the cost of those tickets to Celine Dion that I was dragged along to!
