My elderly father who has a medical card and is 86 years of age told me that when he visited his chiropodist a few weeks ago he was charged a €10 booking fee. Has anyone heard of this before?
My elderly Dad (Medical Card Holder), never has to pay a booking fee when attending the Chiropodist. It might be a sneaky little thing the Chiropodist decided to introduce in an effort to combat 'no-showers'. Maybe the Chiropodist intends to give it back if he shows for his appointment. I don't think he should pay!!
I was talking to a neighbour at the weekend and they were saying that the first time they attended the Chiropodist on their medical card they were charged E25 .This was apparently an admin fee for sending off the forms to the health board for a medical card patient..After that all treatment was free
