Hi hoping to get some advice,

I am pretty certain my partner and myself would be entitled to medical cards based on income/ expenditure guidelines.

However we currently pay 500 euro a month "mortgage" payment to my farther, the house is in our name, the purchasing money being lent by my farther.
I know in usual circumstances letters from the mortgaging bank are required along with bank statements to supplement the application.
The bank statements are not a problem however as this was a private loan from my father to us we only gave our own home made contract signed by all the parties involved. Would this be enough?

I rang the call centre however none of them know?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks.

I have always worked on the basis of "WHEN IN DOUBT ALWAYS APPLY" Only then will this be clarified for you.

Send a copy of the agreement together with the application form and copies of all supporting documents.

I usually add a note naming and numbering all documents as so many documents get lost in transit. Keep copies of everything you send.

Even 1 missing piece of paper can delay your application for months

Do the online application as they will respond far quicker than filing a solely paper application.

Go for it?? It took me 18 months to get mine. However, a lot does depend on who gets to do your application.

I was fighting away with one person. I had to phone this person with some information. He was away on holidays and someone else pick up the phone. Says she: "I'm not at my desk at the moment and I'll have to go and get your file. I'll phone you back in 15 minutes.2

true to her word, she did and said: "You should have a medical card". I had one the following day.

She had the exact same info as the original person dealing with the application, but one refuses me and the other gets it within 24 hours.

Happily, I am now back on medication - hence the rambling and typos!!!
