Hope this is the right forum, if you have VHI are you still entitled to return a Med 1 form to the revenue. i have VHI healthsteps which would mean i get a little bit back from visits to the gp etc and wondered can i also claim this from the revenue??

As the [broken link removed] notes say,

You cannot claim relief in respect of sums already received or due to be received from:

• Any public or local authority e.g. Health Service Executive
• Any Policy of Insurance
• Any other source e.g. Compensation

You must give details of such amounts and deduct them from the amount claimed on the claim form.

Remember that the amount not covered by the medical insurer is allowable for tax. e.g. Cost €100.00 VHI refund €60 , net cost €40. The €40 is allowable at your marginal rate of tax.
