I have a disability. I had my car adapted in 2004 for wheelchair use and received a VRT & VAT rebate. Am I allowed to claim PAYE/self assessment tax relief for the net-of-vat cost of the adaptation?
I don't think that MED1 has anything to do with this issue so am a bit confused as to why you mentioned it. Is there any info [broken link removed] that might be of use? Is there a representative/support group that might be able to assist/advise you (e.g. Wheelchair Association or the like)?
The MED1 allows a person to claim relief for various items including, wheelchairs, wheelchair lifts etc. I just wondered if it would stretch to car adaptation? However, I'll try the other sources.
