I emailed an estate agent today about a house that is "price on application" asking how much the house is. He replied saying "the price is on application, there has been an offer of x which has been declined"

So how do I know how much they're looking for?

More than x anyway.

Is there a similar house on

It might give you an idea.

It generally means, 'contact the Estate Agent and they will tell you, we do not want our neighbours to know our business'.
Quite old fashioned, particularly now with the PPR.

All you do is telephone them and ask, generally you'll get it from the person on the front desk.
