MDF oak effect skirting

Just wondering if there are opinions out there on MDF effect oak skirting boards / architraves and the like. Was looking into it recently - looked the real deal - and is about the same price as normal red deal.

I would be worried about the surface getting scratched with normal wear and tear.

We bought this skirting from Brooks.... it's holding up well and is a decent match for our solid oak floors. No complaints and much cheaper than solid oak skirting.
