MBNA new charges?

I got a letter from MBNA recently, saying in addition to charging
me interest, they would now also charge 7 euro each time I paid
my visa bill. So that's another 84 euro for them each year.
Is this normal? Are other credit card companies charging processing fees, as well as interest?

What card do you have?
Is the charge listed online [broken link removed]?
Are you sure that they're proposing to charge €7 simply for paying your bill? Sounds unusual to me.

Its all about the way they caculate the miniumum monthly charge, it's not a fee, whatever the miniumum payment rate they charge they are adding an extra €7 to. Also got the letter but do not have it on me so can't say exactly how they calculate. Did I read somewhere that if you are only paying the minimum each month that you should pay a little bit extra as it would mean that you are not just paying interest?

Yeah it relates to minimum payments. Basically if the balance is less then €25 the min payment is the total amount of the statement balance. If the statement balance is €25 or more the min payment will be the greater of €25 or any charges for payment protection cover, interest and default charges plus €7.

Make it academic by clearing your balance before interest charges kick in?
