Might be of interest to MBNA card holders :I recently phoned MBNA about my credit card rate. It was at 14.9 %. (I know, massive)
I told them that perm tsb were offereing 11.9 percent and asked if they could beat that. They put me through to customer loyality and dropped the rate to 10.9% there and then.
