The heater is blowing cold air on the window and turning the control does not change it to hot air. In the engine compartment there seems to be hot water going down through the pipes to the heater matrix. To get at the heater hot/cold control knob I've tried to remove the radio using DIN keys. While the keys loosens the radio a little it will not slide out. Is there something I'm not doing that I need to do to get the radio out? Thanks for any replies.

I've heard these radios are notoriously difficult to get out - the (almost) same design Fiesta was the same. I think you just need perseverance and elbow grease TBH - I'm fairly sure you are going about it the right way.

for a start your barking upthe wrong tree taking the radio out the fault is the heater control valve in the engine bay
