I have a 6 month fixed deposit account which has just matured, with 1st Active.

The bank called me last week, probably in connection with this. However I've just returned form a two week break.

What happens to the acconut when it matures. I just cannot find my terms & conditions.

I also received a call from the bank and might enquire on Monday. I can't presently locate the information on the money market account.

Page 21 (numbered 19) of these [broken link removed] suggest that the money market deposit goes back into the easy access account that it was taken from originally. Since this would earn little interest, they are probably happy for you to leave it there!

Im the same guys. Where are you going to put the money now? I find Investec are offering the best 6mth at present.

You are correct Coolaboy, see attached,

Its a far cry from the 6.25-6.5% on the 1st Active deposit.

I was checking up Investec before, but decided then to go with Anglo for a one months notice account.

Website of Investec is not the best, but I heard before on this site that they were looking to improve on it.

I suppose its the best out there, so I am going to have look at it too.

Still wondering what 1st Active did want, they state that you should contact there store for the fixed term deposit interest rates, see below

Any other thoughts out there

They wanted to tell you they had a limited offer rate of 4% for 1 yr, however it is now gone, 3.75% on offer now.

Why did you choose a one months notice account with Anglo? The Anglo one month notice account offers just 2.00% interest. If you want near instant access, you are better off with the Anglo Premium Demand account that offers 3.60% return up to 100,000 EUR.

As the previous posters have said, if you want a term deposit then Investec offer the best rates for 6 months or 1 year.

Sorry for mixing up the wording to my previous thread.

Yes I do have a premium demand account.....original interest 4.75%....my error
