Hi, I came across state savings bonds belonging to my mother as I'm helping her to tidy up her financial affairs, they matured in 2013 and 2016 ,where are they now?

If they're the An Post ones I think they may have been automatically invested in the next batch

As far as i know these bonds do not automatically re invest .You will have to either instruct them to re invest or else withdraw

Yes that is right.

I got a maturity notice recently for a Savings Bond.
They indicate clearly that they will have no liability for the investment beyond the maturity date.
For this reason you need to send back the option form with the bond fairly smartly.
