There's a an annual Cost of Education Allowance of €500.00 per annum paid at the start of each academic year wqhen you are on BTEA.

who's to say you don't qualify for a grant?
you are entitled to be assessed on your current income, which is the mere btea, under the change of circumstances clause;
furthermore, you are likely to be entitled to the top-up grant;
apply for the grant and appeal against the decision if its not favourable!
believe you me, i know what i'm talking about.

Does any one know if you can qualify for " back to school clothing and footwear scheme " if you are on SW not receiving BTEA and over 22 ?

the application form only requests details of the dependents of the applicant so there appears to be no provision for you qualifying;
if you have a parent in receipt of a social welfare payment perhaps he/she could apply on your behalf?

sorry more info, its for my self I am going 3rd level full time, on SW ( injury ) I am an married adult with 3 children, not receiving BTEA, I heard that there may be provision for extra allowance for clothing etc..... ?

The BTS clothing and footwear scheme is for school going children not adults.
