My present employer is in the process of making redundancies and as I'm on maternity leave I would really appreciate some information regarding how I stand on this subject. I am due to return from 12 months 9 of which was statutory in May 2009.
Another issue I have is I have completed my BERR form and asked to go back to my original contract of employment which was 4 days 9 - 5pm to which they have declined my request. Prior to going on maternity leave I did change my working pattern to 9 - 2:45 pm Mon - Friday which equated to 28.1/2 hours a week - I did this 12 months ago in January 2007.
They have stated that they can only offer Part time hours of 30 over 5 days, I currently only work 28 1/2 hours. Other moms within the business work 4 days one 8:30 - 4:30 and the other 9 - 5? One employee is of the same level of employment as me and the other is a Team Leader / Operations Manager.
