About 3 months ago my wife gave very early birth.
She started to receive standard maternity benefit in the 4th week after birth. We have never received money for first 3 weeks.
I got the letter from local social welfare officer that i was overpaid my jobseekers benefit by 10/week since birth because i should be on different rate while my wife on maternity. I filled up the form for my local SWO, that i agree with reduced rate and i will return overpaid 90 euro by 9 weekly installments of 10 euro. That was 2 weeks ago. I am getting reduced Jobseekers payment by 10 euro now and they taken out extra 10 to cover overpaid money.
So my wife rang maternity benefit section today to enquire about unpaid first weeks. She was told that we will not receive payment because i was getting extra 10 euro i am not suposed to. But i am returning this money!
So because i was overpaid 30 euro we will loose 740 euro??? Nonsence...
