Our project for the weekend is to extend our carkparking area and replace a section of footpath which was taken up to repair leaking waste water pipe. Both areas are prepared, ie dug up and lengths timber in place.
We need a breakdown of the materials needed to make up the concrete.
For 1 cu m of concrete eight bags of cement, 1 1/2 tonne of aggregate. Water. Mix 1 cement:5 aggregate.
There are mini mix trucks that go around, they can empty it onto a plastic sheet for you and you can then move it at your leisure (within reason before it goes off of course). There would be no less than 20 wheelbarrows. Mixing concrete yourself for a path can lead to variations in the colour of the finished path.

Just a slight correction on the amount of cement needed for 1 1/2 tonne of aggregate at a mix of 5 : 1, should actually be 12 bags cement.
40 bags of cement equals a tonne divided by 5 = 8 bags per tonne and therefore 12 per one and a half tonne.
