Master Card - pay for car ?

Have an NIB Master Card.

Limit of 1k on it.

Wnat to pay for car but garage will not accept a cheque naturally enough.

Can I t/f 5k from my current account to my M/C and on picking up the car ask the garage to take 5k from my M/C ??

Could get a draft but my NIB branch is 40 miles from me and is'nt convenient to do ?

You could ring NIB credit card services and ask them to authorise a temporary increase to your credit limit for the purpose. Once they see the €5K in your current a/c they should oblige, I'd imagine.

But make sure you don't change your mind and move the funds back.
 
check with the garage first - they will have to pay a hefty fee on the transaction
 
The garage will probally not accept the MC. Also need to ask NIB what the maximum daily transaction limit is?
