Married tax credits?

I notice on some of the examples of joint/seperate taxation for married people on the revenue site that they mention a married tax credit. I'm married now for a few years (notified the revenue as well) but have not received these tax credits. Are they the same as the personal tax credit just renamed once you are married or is this an additional tax credit that married people receive?

As you can see.... it’s not a tax credit for being married, more of a way in which the couples available credits may be handled.

A previous thread may also provide a little clarity on the issue.
