Married couple: Claiming tax refund/part time

Married, partner was working but not looking after child full time.

No longer able to benefit from the increased tax free allowance given to a married couple. If she worked for 1-2 weeks of this year would you still be able to avail of the married couples relief?
 
I can't help with the increased 20% tax band for married couples but bear in mind you'd probably be eligible for the Home Carers Tax Credit (€900) for a spouse earning less than €5080 here:
