Anyone know what happens to your wages etc if you tell the tax man you are married?? We also have had new baby, does she count for anything in Taxland??

Im thinking of going part time when I go back to work and was wondering if Hubby gets more money in his wages if Im only part time??

Thanks

Do a search for previous posts on married taxation.

Searching Askaboutmoney.com using Google

There are no tax credits/breaks specifically for having a child although a stay at home parent (possibly working part time) may qualify for the Home Carer's Tax Credit worth a maximum of €770 p.a.

And of course there is the generous children's allowance.

If you go part time, you might want to make sure your husband claims the majority of the tax credits.
