Marlfield/kiltipper in tallaght

Does anybody live in these areas who could give me an idea what they're like to live in? I've had a drive around and thought they looked nice and quiet and the new Spar nearby is a good point. What's the traffic like in the mornings? I don't have a car at the moment and and would rather not have to buy one (my boyfriend has a car). I would hope to be able to cycle to work in crumlin but be able to get public transport the odd time too, what do people think?

We have friends who live there (Marlfield) at the moment. Their house is gorgeous, but they have told us about some (minor) social problems - gangs of kids from other estates fighting and hanging around the green, etc.

There have also been a couple of robberies in the new shopping area.

The residents association seem motivated tho, and they keep people informed.

IMO tho, the estate has gone downhill since they moved in (they bought new). The maintenance of the roads, etc. just isn't good and some parts look shabby. Also, a lot of people are moving on and my friends are looking to do the same... they have been happy there to date, but don't want to raise a family there.
