I thought I should update this.

My original post stated that after more than 1,000 posts I've decided not to make any further posts on Askaboutmoney.com due to a group of posters who have decided to attack my posts constantly.

However, I have been approached by so many people in the “real world” in recent months who have said that they really appreciate my posts.

I believe one of the hallmarks of a Professional is a willingness to provide pro Bono advice. But I simply don’t have the time to address every single question.

Furthermore, our testimonials indicate they also really appreciate our advice and service.

I therefore decided to block the offending posters (imagine being so petty and small minded that you have nothing better to do with your time, safe under a cloak of anonymity, than to consistently and repeatedly attack a professional adviser who is giving their time for free trying to help people)

So, instead of trying to engage with the group of posters who wish to attack my posts, I am ignoring them. So if my answer in a thread might not make sense it may be because I can’t see half the posts.

Can I ask what market you are targeting? What is your typical customer?

Is it fee only?

Is it people with investable funds in exess of €500k?

I have recommended you in the past to non nationals working in Ireland and Irish people working overseas, as you seem to have a speciality in this.

We generally work with a small group of investors at or in the 10 years leading up to retirement.

Our advice is very customised and tax focused rather than the more typical “off the shelf” products you’d generally see in Ireland.

We also work with a select group of families and entrepreneurs with a particular emphasis on more complex circumstances such as foreign nationals living in the Republic of Ireland, as you note. We have particular expertise around UK Nationals living in Ireland (because I am one)

As the only Chartered Financial Planning Firm in Ireland, we take a multi-disciplinary approach to financial planning drawing upon our extensive credentials in Investment Management and Tax and Estate Planning.

We only work with a small number of private clients where we can add substantial value and we only work on a fee basis to ensure complete impartiality and objectivity. We don't have account minimums but it is likely that anyone with more than €100,000 will find benefit from our services either directly or by referral to the other quality professional firms that we work with.

Equally, we are just about to launch a regular saving service which starts at around €120pm so I'd encourage following me on twitter

Sorry to see you go. I sometimes felt folks were a bit too hard on your posts. I appreciated that you brought many useful points of information to the community here. Hope you come back from time to time.
 
Shame that you're deciding no longer to contribute, always valued your contributions (even if not agreeing with them).
I'm not on twitter but am interested in the €120 month offering...
 
Thank you for making that free Marc. I purchased the Global Wealth Tax guide in 2019 which I found useful for learning.
