Anyone any experience of Malta? Have spent a bit of time there over recent few years with work from time to time (tough assignments really!) Although very small really like it and would seriously consider investing in a one/two bed apt. Obviously would like to be able to rent it out when possible but rental income does not seem to be particularly high even in prime areas of St Julians or Sliema (Sliema by the way is my preferred area). Prices are quite varied so hard to know if it worthwhile or not. Would view this as investment for the future with a plan to semi-retire there (talking 20+ yrs hence!). But from what i can research with rents reasonably low it may be more prudent to invest money elsewhere and simply do long term lease if we want to winter there (also avoid all upkeep charges etc). Then again small island limited space great standard of living and new EU member possibly equals great investment prospect!! Any thoughts?
