Making investing (more) simple

I wonder am I alone in thinking that the complexities of investing in Ireland have forced some of us of making an even bigger mistake of not investing at all.
With an appreciation that certain individuals have unique set of circumstances where certain stocks may be particularly beneficial such as dividend stocks for some retirees, it would be great if the forum could pick out a few "good" options for your average retail investor.

I wish to split my investments into three options (to try and balance the pros and cons of each)

1. ETF's - accumulating ETFs which also are on this list is the way to go https://registers.centralbank.ie/FundSearchPage.aspx
2. Already diversified conglomerate shares like Berkshire Hathaway Inc., Markel Group Inc., IAC Inc. etc. - I am to buy this on traderepublic?
3. Investment trusts such as JAM, Monk, SMT, Murray International, Finsbury Growth, Bankers Investment trust are the options quoted, where do you buys these?

I want to try and make this forum simple for an investor who wants to start investing TODAY in GOOD options appreciating that all the three options above have pros and cons

Is there a way some of the smart folks here can simplify this in a few steps process?

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer

Probably. I summarised my own experience here for what it's worth...

1. ETF's - I understand accumulating ETFs which also are on this list is the way to go https://registers.centralbank.ie/FundSearchPage.aspx, but what ones specifically are good and where is best to buy them?
To answer this would be to breach the posting guidelines in my view.
2. Berkshire hathway - I am to buy this on traderepublic? Are there reasonable alternatives like Brookfield and Merkel?
You mean Markel? Again - stock tipping isn't allowed on Askaboutmoney.
11 We don't discuss individual shares
You won't find any messages suggesting investing in CRH or asking if AIB is a good investment. That is not the purpose of Askaboutmoney. We don't facilitate stock tipping or speculation about the future performance of individual shares. There are other forums which discuss individual shares such as The Investments and Markets Forum of boards.ie

This guideline does not restrict you from discussing
  1. the mechanics of buying or selling shares in a flotation
  2. Rights issues - pricing and mechanics
  3. Dividend Reinvestment Plans – pricing and mechanics

Apologies Clubman, I'll edit the post to reflect same

Can I phrase it as a conglomerate stock seen as an alternative to ETF like Berkshire?

Is it possible to give examples like you did? "already diversified conglomerate shares like Berkshire Hathaway Inc., Markel Group Inc., IAC Inc. etc."

I'm trying to benefit the average user here whilst ofcourse respecting the admins and the site rules

I want to achieve a simple post that allows people to invest TODAY which is probably the biggest failing of most of us

I don't wish to pay for one when I already have the bulk of the information I need, Ill figure out the rest myself if needs be

I see such advice is given across multiple forums on this website rather than simplified in one or two posts

I guess I can just share my own journey if thats help at all to others

If you are asking for specific stock/ETF recommendations then I would really question that assertion.

The only thing these investment trusts have in common is that they are investment trusts. They all have different strategies, countries invested in and risk profiles.
