Making Employee Redundant

Hi Folks

Looking for some advice. It is looking increasingly likely that we will have to make our Employee Redundant. He has been on 3 day per week since February 2013 but I feel redundancy is likely to need to happen before year end. The company are not in a position to pay redundancy. Where do we stand?
 
Assuming that he has been employed by you for at least two years and he pays a Class A stamp/prsi contribution you have a liability. You are in a minefield as this type of payment has a preferential status on the debt pecking order - that is the category you are in.

Starting point for me would be which may give you some information. A solicitor would be also assist that costs ...
