Key Post Making a claim for personal injuries through the Injuries Board (PIAB)

I heard recently the Injuries Board will accept the required medical report from a physiotherapist. So, there's scope to skip the doctor, self refer to the physio and, presumably after a treatment course, have the physio complete the medical assessment report. Is there a downside to this approach?

It would appear that a medical report is compulsory before the Injuries Board will consider a claim.

What happens in a case where a person was not directly injured but suffered emotional trauma as a result of seeing other people being injured in an incident.

I felt that when I was communicating with them it was all about box ticking. All correspondence signed off using The Injuries Board....no names given.

Doctors have to use their form even though one form does not fit all situations.
