I have bought a large 2 bed investment apartment (circa 950 sq ft) and was wondering if I could add another bedroom which would hopefully increase its letting and or property value ?
I am no expert , but I dont think it would be a major problem.
If it's an appartment, then it's probably a leasehold and there are usually restrictions on moving internal walls or changing it's use (e.g. to a business premisis).
It's also easy to put a satellite dish on balcony (with your washing), or to put down wooden floors, but these things aren't necessarily allowed either.
There actually was a court action by a management company against an apartment owner who did convert his 2 bed to a 3 bed apartment without consent and he was forced to dismantle it.
