Magnet touched tv screen

One of my kids put a magnet on the tv screen and there is a small blue hue now in the bottom left corner. Anyone have any experience or know if there is any way of getting rid of it or will it be there permanently?
 
I'm presuming this was a tube TV. Does the TV have a 'degaussing' function in the menu? If so, that'll sort it. If not, search online for tips on how to do it yourself with a magnet (stronger than the one that caused the issue).

I am no expert, but I thought the TV degaused the CR Tube everytime it was switched on.
 
The better ones would to a degree, but possibly not enough to reverse the affects above.
 
Same thing happened to an old "tube" tv few years back. Got a stronger magnet ( one from an old radio speaker ) and dragged the distortion to the corner of the tube. Took a few minutes but worked fine.
 
Most tv repairers should have a tv degausser, it's a round plate and takes a minute to fix.
