Maderia in October

Hi ya, 40+ couple looking for a holiday destination for 1 week in early October. Would like to fly direct (not ryanair) and go somewhere with sea views, nice food, wine, relaxing, romantic. Dont like the typical resorts but maybe October would be as places would be quieter.
Thinking about charter flight/package deal to Madeira in Portugal - has anyone been there, would you recommend same or any other suggestions would be welcome.
The indecisiveness is causing major stress at the minute, to the point of giving up!

We have been there twice in November. Its an absolute gem of a place, but not a beach holiday as there are few beaches, its a volcanic island. you can fly Sundays from Dublin, but we went through Thomsons via Manchester
