Made redundant recently & signing on for two weeks. What is the delay in JS?

I was made redundant recently and signed on well over 2 weeks ago and have not heard any word on my Jobseekers claim to date. Is this a mormal delay and is there any thing I can do to find out what exactly is holding up my claim?

I have being paying stamps continuously for past 10 years or more. I met all criteria for signing on and only received a very small redundancy package.

I am really getting a bit anxious about the whole thing at the moment.

My son waited 5 - 6 weeks to receive his payment, although he did get all that was due from his first signing on date what are people supposed to live on in the meantime?

try your local welfare officer and explain the case
he should give you a check every week until it comes through
