made redundant ,entitled to full unemployment pay?

hi, i have recently been made redundant and went to sign on today. I was asked for a letter stating how much I got for redundancy.

My understanding was I would be entitled to full unemployment payfor a while (i have been at company for 3 years so stamps are paid) until jobseekers allowance? kicks in ,in which i will be means tested for.

so basiclly what i am asking is, am I means tested from day one? and not entitled to full pay? Also i need to move out of home and was wondering would I be entitled to rent allowance and if so is there a waiting list?

Read the keypost section on redundnacy amounts. That's why tghey want confirmation of the amount, nothing to do with means test.

If your stamps are paid up I believe you are entitled to jobseekers benefit for up to 12months (this is not means tested). However depending on the amount you received through redundancy this could mean that you would be disqualified from JB for up to 9 weeks (if you received up to 90k)
