made redundant and got six weeks work

Hi all

Last last week after 8 years in the job i was told i would be made redundant and would be paid up until the end of the month.

I got a job today (a lot less money but a job) which will last until the end of august and it starts on monday


What should i do regarding tax as i would be working two jobs?

What should i do regarding the dole as i will be out of a job at the end of august ?

In relation to Jobseeker's claim, you can sign on when you finish the 2nd job at the end of August. You won't be able to sign on before then.

Presuming you mean that you got paid till the end of July but do not have to work this notice period, then you simply hand your P45 to your new employer and they will pay the tax due. You wont get much pay for July though as all your credits will be used up. As previuos poster states you sign on when you finish work with your new employer and hand in the (new) P45 to your SW office.
