Hi all,
Sadly i was made redundant yesterday and after trawling through employment websites Im still a little clueless as to what exactly i need to do bar looking for my next job. I am married and my husband is in full time employment earning approx 60k pa. I have been working full time for the last 10 years. I dont have to work the 2 months notice and HR have advised that i will receive 2 weeks pay per year of employment, which is two years.

What next? I'd appreciate all your advice and help.

Many thanks Sue Ellen for your swift response. Quick question which you may be able to to answer for me, will i be taxed on the 4 weeks statutory redundancy I am entitled to?

Hi,

Sorry to have to say I would only have slight knowledge on redundancy. You will probably find the answer here Citizens's Information or if you run the search option on the main page of AAM you should find plenty of reading matter.

You will not be taxed on any statutory redundancy. Any ex-gratia payment may be taxed.
