Lump sum advice needed

Hi All,
I have a lump sum I want to invest in a safe account. It will probably be approximately 50k. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on the best deals out there at the moment. Am looking at 1, 2 or 3 year deals. Would be 50k if we go for a one year option but a bit less if we go for 2 or 3 years. I have no idea where to start.
