I am spilt up with husband and I live in the family home. My husband has not contributed any money towards the mortgage since leaving our home 4 years ago and I have struggled to pay reduced payment alone. We are not legally seperated as I cannot afford to pay for this. The property tax estimate received from revenue is addressed to me, as my husband still has an iterest in this property should his name also be included, leaving revenue to chase him for his half?

The charge is not split between different owners. It's one tax on one property. If you are residing there and paying the mortgage than it is you who should pay it as ultimately you will become owner. Have you tried for free legal aid in relation to the separation as you really ought to get it sorted.

Yes I did, but unfortunately i am not eligible as I work, although I do not earn a lot, apparently if I was on social welfare I would be eligible, but this is not the route I would wish to take, although it seems in this country people that choose to work appear to be penalized for doing so.

You need to get this sorted. You're paying his mortgage. He could come back when there's enough equity and force the sale of your home and look for his legal share. Or his heirs could. ****ty situation to be in, sorry.
