LPT: Online payment without reference number from form.

If a person is living abroad and has no access to the property (agent is looking after it), can they pay online without the reference number given in the letter ? The letter was probably sent to the property and chances are the tenant has binned or ignored it.

Has the potential to get messed.
Maybe send them an email to request the reference number or ring them?
