Hi.

My parents home is also used used as a business and they pay rates on a large part of the home. From the revenue website I've found this:

Q/ Will properties that are used partly for commercial purposes and also as a residence (e.g. apartment over a shop or pub) be liable to LPT?

A/ In the case of a property that is used for both commercial and residential purposes, LPT is only due on the residential portion of the property (which would not be subject to commercial rates). In this example LPT would be due on the apartment but not on the shop or pub.

So how do I value half a house?
