Did you pay by card/cheque? If so this will suffice as proof of purchase.

Marion i didnt ,i repled to an add on the 11th on a certain site, then on sunday the 13th i went in and bought the amp,im not trying to get bully with the shop or anything,if it means tough that i lost the receipt well more fool me,but id have thought that the shop would be able to go back to that date and see that infact the amp was bought,as it would have been the only one sold that day,but hey maybe im wrong,no receipt mt tuff id say??
Good suggestion. My sister used Joe Duffy as a threat a number of times when in genuine distress about poor customer service, it works.Go in and ask for a reprint of the receipt. Acknowledge that it is your mistake to have lost it but that you want a solution. Tell them if they do not give you the reprint you will have to go on the Q102 consumer affairs show to ask for advice and that will make their shop look very bad.
He sent an email into them. That email could be from anyone ready to see if they are mugish enough to accept a story. If he arrives in person at least they can establish whether he is genuinely a customer. If they refuse after going in to the shop in person and talking to the people there then perhaps your points could be valid.I think that the shop is being thick with you on this. As you have stated you are known to the manager and the transaction was recorded. I have had a similar experience with a local store, who simply, as you suggest, checked their records for the day and see that I bought the items. The shop keeps such records and I really think they are being difficult. Plus you have been sold a product which is not fit for purpose "it does not work", there is some obligation to help you in a better way other than cough up more to have it repaired or some other silly excuse. What happened to service.
