I own a property that I bought before I got married. I benefit from mortgage relief on it. I am there most weeks but don't live in it full time as its too far from work. My husband also owns a house. We plan to sell it and move to a new house. If I am named on the deeds with him would I loose mortgage relief on my property? My husband does not need my help financially to get a mortgage for the new house. Advice appreciated.

Re: loosing mortgage relief on source

TRS is on your principal residence where ever you deem that to be. If you buy new house with your husband your TRS will be moved to that property as your principal residence. It's not revelent that your name is on the deed. You are married and thus it goes on to where ever your both live, be it in his name or both. You are not loosing it, you would be moving it to other house. Non principal residence is not entitled to TRS.

Arguably OP is not entitled to TRS on her original property as it is clearly not her PPR - it's mostly unoccupied.
