Losing 150euro holiday deposit?

My parents are cancelling their summer holiday which they have paid 150euro deposit to the travel agent.

Could my parents cancel their booking and book another destination for myself and a friend in our names, and put the 150 deposit off our holiday, rather then losing the money?
 
no they didnt ask yet, they only decided they weren't going. im just looking to see if anyone has done this before
 
What do the terms & conditions of the booking agreement say about cancellations or changes?
 
it says you can transfer the booking to someone who satisfies the conditions for a fee of 35euro. But we dont want that package that they are going on.
It also says if you want to alter the package its a cost of 20euro per person.
 
So unless the travel agent will waive these terms & conditions there's your answer I presume?
