Looking to trade up/in

Looking to change my car (haven’t had the best luck with them in the past). This is my first time to trade a car, normally buy private and sell car I have privately too. The car I have has had a lot of things wrong with it so would prefer to trade it in have them give it the once over and them sell it knowing it’s 100% ready for driving.

Looking to buy either VW Jetta/Mazda 6 or Toyota Avensis (2008 upwards, capping it at 2010). What do people think of the choices? Being that I know nothing about cars I want to get something that’s not going to give too much trouble as my current car has cost me a lot!

This will also be my first time to get a car loan, would you recommend FINANCE or CREDIT UNION?

The jetta is a smaller car than the other 2

Passat would be in the same category.

Boss has a 2009 Avensis with no major hassle about 130,000Km's on it now.

The mazda is a lovely looking car. Try and get an executive model more bells and whistles.

I think the credit union is probably more flexible for paying off.
