Try Adare Manor, Limerick or rent your own private Castle - Cloghan Castle in Gallaimh.

Cabra Castle on its own luxurious grounds near Kingscourt on the Cavan Monaghan border is well worth a look. Fine building, golf course, forest park nearby, excellent restaurant. When I saw it I was impressed, not least because unlike say, Barberstown Castle, Cabra actually IS a castle.

We stayed in Waterford castle a few years ago ... fantastic ... walls were about 3 foot thick ... the bedroom was the size of my house ... there was a seperate sitting room and bathroom ... service was fantastic. It will blow your budget though.

Have to second Waterford Castle....Love the small ferry to the Island and they have a great golf course too. Small and intimate too.
