Looking to pay for something- monies only paid on receipt

My friend is getting married, and wants to pay part of wedding before, and remainder afterwards. He is afraid something may happen to Hotel.


Hotel may doubt he has money, so are unsure

Was wondering if anyone has experience of putting money in an account for release after terms and conditions of deal are met ??
