Looking for some type of device on an extendable pole for cleaning gutters ?

Mainly my gutters get clogged with dirt and moss rather than leaves from my trees. It seems that moss grows on the roof tiles and then falls down the slope of the roof into the gutter where it sits and buillds up over time.
Ive been searching some adverts for a second hand ladder thus far with little success. However it seems that a device on an extendable pole which can scoop out the debris in the gutters while I hold it on the ground might be preferable and safer. Has anyone seen such a thing for sale in Dublin or have any experience of using one ?

Hi,
Same issue as yourself - moss & leaves clogging up the gutters... I had extend-able poles (those for washing windows) & tried a few a few self made attachments... it just got very messy & difficult... so in the end, borrowed the neighbours ladders & manually took out the gunk... lot easier with the ladders... is it possible you could borrow a ladder from someone?

Distance and lever arm might be too far, plus its difficult to visually inspect the task.

You're need an up-and-over round-the-corner periscope with binoculars!

But if you do find one, post about it here!

[broken link removed] but not sure if the pole would be long enough for house rather than conservatory gutters or if it would be strong enough.

They also do a [broken link removed] but, if like me, you don't get on with ladders then that's not an option.

Gutter guards are another option but not sure if they work or cause more problems than they solve.

there are a number of products out there that can be fitted to keep out the crap once you clean them out

one product is called hedgehog, there is another sponge type one: the theory is that the crap sits on top of the sponge and the water flows through into gutter, the crap dries and blows away
