Anyone know of a place to get reasonable priced Upholstery fabric I want to get my furniture recovered ...3 seater French style couch, 3 matching chair, but at the moment the prices I have been getting back I would rather buy a new suite of furniture for! tried Home focas not a great section and most interior shops are too expensive for me at cheapest nearly 50e a yard,
thanks for your help in advance!
There are a few things you need to take into account here. You may not be comparing like with like when you say you will get a new suite for the price of the reupholstering. The frame that you have may be far superior to the new stuff that you are looking at. I thought long and hard before getting ours recovered. As you say, I would have got a new one for the same money but some of the frames didn't appear to be strong.
You are right when you say that the material is very expensive but the quality can vary greatly.
You can get a quote/advice from these people [broken link removed] I found them good and so did this person. The shop in Capel St. is deceiving because its small but their service is good.
There are some suppliers mentioned here for Capel St. but I think the people at 110, Capel St. may have moved just like Zhivago.

They do upholstery weight cotton twill for $32 and yard (they do ship worldwide). You can design your own fabric so you can get exactly what you want in terms of pattern / colour or you can choose from a fabric already designed by another user. They have a range of fabrics weights, not just upholstery weight. You can also get samples of the fabrics before you buy massive amounts.
Full disclosure, I haven't used them myself but very much intend to.
